tufuiegoeris asked: Not trying to sound like an asshole-- but what do you mean about the laws there?

The health regulation is VERY lapse in some areas and very tight in others.

For example, in our area we are required by law to have IR operated sinks in every procedural room (which is pimp anyway). However other studios I have worked at (health department approved) have carpeted areas and no sinks in some procedure rooms.

Also there is no ‘certificate’ in Australia for piercing or tattooing, meaning anyone can just start working in a shop as long as a health official says the premises is okay.

killablechildren asked: I think I saw a short documentary with you in where you said "When people ask me "What will you do in ten years?", I tell them "Fuck it, have fun for ten years.". You, together with Pauly Unstoppable, are two of my biggest idols!

lol, thanks man. It’s a pretty old doco now - got some new rad ones coming out in the next month or so!

I stand by that, in the same way that nobody asks a professional football player if they are worried about having fucked knees in 10 years. I’m doing what I love, looking the way that I love - not so many people are that fortunate.

tufuiegoeris asked: I was wondering if the piercing industry in Australia is as overcrowded as it in is the US. Or would I have a harder time finding an apprenticeship down there or here in the states

I think everywhere is overcrowded with people in this industry, the downside to Australia is the lack of decent laws and regulations.

I find there are way too many ‘hairdresser’ piercers offering shitty service and even worse jewellery.

Finding an apprenticeship is more about your personal presentation and willingness to learn and work for free/little money while training.

Anonymous asked: For the earphone anon: Over the ear headphones are a good investment. I bought a pair when I had my industrial done. On top of being incredibly comfortable and covering the ear, thus avoiding the tragus, they also provide better sound. The studio style ones are best :3 Just wanted to share my experience.

I totally agree, I have a set of Senheizer stereo headphones that I’ve worn while healing all sorts of ear work and found them super comfy.

Their only downside is that they are a little ‘noisy’ for others around me, not so awesome on a busy train or bus.

dinomusprime asked: Heya again, Just to follow up on my previous question. I have 2 x eyebrows (outside), munroe (left side), nose, lip (through the middle, bottom lip, top & bottom balls visible) and nose piercings i need jewelry for. How long does jewelry take to come in? I want to be able to see sparkly goodness but not the bars. :) I had a look at the site but not too sure how any of it actualy sits ont he skin :)

It usually takes around a month for custom orders to come in, but that depends exactly when you place your order with us.

Eyebrow jewellery: 16gx8mm curved barbell with threaded princess ends in 3mm.

Nose (nostril or septum?): 18/16g princess-cut nostril screw

Lip (vertical): Same as eyebrow (perhaps 14g, but depends how it was pierced).

Monroe: 16g/14g 8mm post with princess cut end. 4mm.

To get the effect you are after, you will need to see your piercer and get them to measure everything up (gauge and length) so that the jewellery fits perfectly. I selected princess cut ends because they let in the most light, have minimal metal and shine like polished puppy testicles.

Perhaps you would be best to order them for your normal piercer to ensure the correct sizes and such and that way they can put them in for you securely also.

dave--m asked: Hey dude, sorry for asking so much shit, but how long should I let my septum heal before I start stretching?

That would depend on the placement, your healing, your skins elasticity, your sweet spot and what jewellery you are wearing.

I personally gave mine a month between 1mm stretches and two months before starting stretching from my initial jewellery.

Anonymous asked: How long after a tragus piercing do you think it would take to be able to use earphones again?

Everyone is different when it comes to healing and anatomy. Just keep in mind earphones are not only kinda gross (ear waxy) but also can put heaps of pressure on the inside of the piercing.

I have had clients (with larger ear canals) that have used them without problem the entire healing time, but it does depend on what jewellery you have in there and such.

Short answer, wait till you have it downsized and its healed - so a couple months minimum.
